How to Use the General Ledger Account Inquiry

Article Content: The General Ledger Account Inquiry allows the user a quick and easy option to look up a specific Account Number, check the Account Detail, and verify an Account Total, without running a Trial Balance. The General Ledger Account Inquiry allows the user to easily identify the Debits and Credits in the account. 

To process a General Ledger Account Inquiry: 

Step-By-Step Instructions:


Step 1: Enter the desired General Ledger Account Number. You can enter by Account number or Name.


Step 2: Tab to the Date field and select All Dates or a Date Range.

To view Statistics totals for the Corresponding Stat Account check Show Stats Y/N:


Step 3: Click Search. This will display all line item detail posted to the account. To view Transaction details, click the Detail Icon next to the Transaction Type. You can also sort through transactions by clicking on the associated header. You can sort by Transaction type, Account, Transaction Date, Debit/Credit amount, or Stat amount. To print a Trial Balance (detail) click “Report”.

 

To view Plan and Last Year Actuals, click on the Comparative Tab:


Step 4: To clear and start a new search, select “Clear” or “Close”.
